Postures Checklist for Office Workers to Prevent Occupational Injuries

The lives of professional people it too much busy and stressful. All office works give their best in the office hours to achieve the organizational as well as personal goals. Office workers stay still for maximum time in the seat and work continuously in front of the computer. On one side, this activity helps the workers to achieve the common goal but on the other side this activity generates occupational injury for them if proper posture is not assumed by the workers.



Occupational Injury is so common in workers or labor, workers who keeps working and remain static in a same posture and labor who lift the heavy goods on his shoulder. Occupational Injury generates more pain and becomes in the biggest obstacles to do anything. So, an office worker must be serious about this matter and should understand and assume the correct postures to prevent occupational injuries.

Postures Checklist for Office Workers to Prevent Injuries


Here are the accurate postures for office workers to prevent occupational injuries and pain arises because of it in future:

  • Sit Straight

The first posture need to be assumed is your sitting posture. You must be sitting tall and straight in front of the computer. Your back should be in support of the chair and your leg should be touching the floor, not in air.

  • Keyboard Adjustment

You must be sitting close to the keyboard and rest wrist. You can adjust the keyboard according to your comfort and sitting position, but it must be ensuring that your fingers are wrist is not hurting by using keyboard.

  • Screen Position

Your monitor screen should be in 90 degree to your eyes. Adjust your monitor in the way that it’s directly in the vision of your eyes and your eyes should be looking upward or downward for using the monitor.

  • Documents Holder

If your desk is filled with varieties of stuff, then use documents holder to put the documents in it. It should be in position equal to your eyes so that your eyes will not feel stress in looking the documents again and again.

  • Hand Exercise

During the working hours, it’s not mandatory that you have to keep sitting like a robot. Try to do hand exercise among the working hours. Move your hands, stretching the fingers and do several hand exercise to give flexibility to your hands and prevent from injury or pain.

  • Take Break And Rest Up

Working continuously is so dangerous for your body; it generates tension in muscles and provides occupational injury. Among the working hours, take break and rest up, do shoulder exercises, stretch your legs and feet, and so little warm-up to reduce the tension, boost up and generate energy.

Occupational Injuries is so worse and generates pain that a person can’t afford. So you need to do some activities for the occupational injury prevention. Above are the postures an office workers must be follow to get rid of occupational injury and prevent the injury.
